Have you ever thought why countries with strong economies in the world are dominated by countries that have 4 seasons? such as Europe, America and East Asia. it is very rare for countries with tropical climates to have strong economies. why does that happen?

Can you believe that the difference in seasons and climate has its own history that makes a country have faster economic growth than areas with a more stable climate. is it true that climate differences can make the region more developed? It sounds unbelievable, but it turns out that there have been many studies on the relationship between the progress of a region and the climate conditions in the country.

Jack Diamond and Jeffry Shark once discussed the relationship between anthropology and human culture in the 4 seasons region which triggered faster economic growth than other regions such as the tropics, it turns out that the region that has winter has a different culture of society from tropical societies. imagine hundreds or even thousands of years ago when humans experienced winter they had no food source for months, all the fields were covered with snow all the animals in the forest were difficult to find and fruits did not grow in winter which meant they experienced "scarcity" every year.

The way to deal with it is that people in the 4 seasons region are forced to think about how to survive in the midst of extreme weather conditions for several months, how the agricultural system and domestication of animals to be able to produce their own food so that it can be a food reserve during the winter, Now from that effort over time people quickly learn and develop new technologies ranging from learning calendar systems and science so to predict the arrival of winter, learning techniques and also agricultural technology to be able to produce foodstuffs that are more effective winter preparation conditions.

This is what trains people's culture to think critically and quickly gives birth to new sciences such as mathematics, science, engineering, to military and political science. on the contrary, this condition is not experienced by people who live in the tropics with constant sunlight that makes their land fertile and food sources available throughout the year with stable natural conditions food sources that are always there then the people also develop in a different way.

This theory is reinforced by an economist named Jeffry Sachs who evaluated agricultural production data around the world and found that the agricultural land of four-season countries actually has 50% higher productivity compared to the agricultural land of tropical countries with more fertile conditions, it is because people who live in tropical climates are much more "lazy" because their lives are much easier.

4-season regions that were once forced to adapt to extreme natural conditions for centuries are now transformed into many of the world dominant economic powers. But this condition is not the final conclusion of civilization and economics, because now we have entered a new era of information technology and artificial intelligence where the prosperity of a region is no longer much influenced by climate factors.
