Galactic Gecko Space Garage
The $GECKO token is from an OG NFT project (started in Sept 2021) called GalacticGeckoSpaceGarage.

The $GECKO token launched back in December 2023, right when Solana emerged with a bang from the bear market. It is from the Galactic Gecko Space Garage team which are Solana OGs who first started their NFT project way back in Sept 2021.
It's been down only, mostly, since then. The memecoin space on Solana has seen a lot of activity and despite $GECKO having quite a lot of staying power largely it seems it's been squeezed out in terms of attention due to the plethora of other memecoins in the space. 
However....
As the memecoin space has cooled off we've seen a number of tokens that have no substance other than than pure attention fall by the wayside.
Often spectacularly so.
$GECKO have had their pump and dump in terms of attention and price, but have kept quietly plugging away at their roadmap.
Comparisons to Bonk are not unfair I think at this stage.
Bonk had a long period of low price action after it's launch in which it's demise was predicted many times.
The key to Bonk was the team never stopped building and community was consistently engaged.
And the rest is now history.
Will $GECKO do a Bonk?
Important to note at this stage that Gecko is not exactly like Bonk. It's just not as large a project in terms of size or scope or the interconnectedness within the ecosystem. Bonk is a sprawling project that encompasses games, art and defi in equal measure. There's literally no part of Solana it doesn't touch.
However Gecko does have important similarities which may point to a brighter future for the project.
They're still here
One of the best predictors of success in the start up world is simply: Are you still alive? In a space where so many projects fail simply not failing is bullish.
And this is even more so the case in the memecoin space. 99.99% of these things are gone within a few months. That's not bad. This is a testing bed to see what hits and what sticks both in terms of mindshare and the team behind each token.
Bonk did just this. They kept turning up and sticking around.
Gecko is still here and that's positive.
Even more so given the core of the project is the NFT collection and it's been an active project on Solana since Sept 2021. So definitely OGs if there ever were.
Steady as she goes
The X account for Gecko has been consistently active and has a decent following (16K).
The TG has been consistently active even if it's a modest size still (bit over 300 members).

laid out a roadmap that's solid.
And we've started to see them deliver on that.
Staking
Staking is now available on the website (via Armada, same team who do Bonk Rewards...) 
NOTE: This is my active position above
As an added bonus when you claim your rewards from staking you'll also be getting $WEALTH distributions as well as $GECKO ones.
Though I wouldn't be staking for $WEALTH by itself... it's a one dev memecoin project that seems to be stalled out a bit.
Prior to their own staking being launched they launched Dual Finance option staking as interim solution to getting their own native option.
That program has now ended (options expire in July 2024) now the native staking has been launched.

And they launched a partnership program via Dual Finance for protocols to partner with Gecko.
GameFi
Very recently we saw the launch of their first gamefi integration. 
Liquidity
An important part of any token is the liquidity that exists for it. I'm going to focus on only the DEX liquidity as that's the easiest to see and track.
A token that sustains good liquidity is a sign that the market makers who are supporting the project and the team itself are committed to the longer term. Doesn't mean it CAN'T rug, but if the liquidity is sticking around even through sustained low prices then that's a very healthy sign.
Gecko has maintained pretty solid liquidity across all the major DEXs on Solana.

A few of the above LPs are available as Kamino vaults, indicating that this team has decent connections within Solana defi (you have to apply to Kamino to get vaults listed).
