Engage2Earn Week 4 Fizzles, BUT... Labor Wins! What Does It All Mean?
Right then team, the big dance is done and dusted, the sausages have been sizzled, the pencils are blunt, and the country has spoken! It's time to look back at the final week of our pre-election Engage2Earn push (Week 4) and reflect on the journey, especially in light of the election result.
Grab a bevvy, this one’s a bit longer as we cover the final missions, compare with Week 3, digest the election outcome, and ponder what’s next.
We went into the final week knowing pre-poll voting was in full swing, urging everyone to give it one last big push. So, how did we do?
If you're new here or need the refresher, Engage2Earn was our multi-week campaign to coordinate community action online – boosting helpful content, countering rubbish, and generally trying to improve the #Auspol signal-to-noise ratio during the election campaign. Participants earned $AUSPOL tokens for successful missions, distributed via a weekly airdrop based on Bulb engagement.

Week 4 Mission Breakdown: A Tough Final Innings
Week 4 saw four missions go live, right in the thick of the final campaign push and peak voting period. Unfortunately, folks, it seems the final week proved a bridge too far for our coordinated efforts. Here’s the grim reading:
Mission: Engage2Earn: Keeping Blair free of Cults and Cuts
- Link: https://www.bulbapp.io/p/0aac34e8-6d29-40d2-9bcf-020bbec3a469/failed-engage2earn-keeping-blair-free-of-cults-and-cuts
- Status: FAILED ❌
- Outcome: This mission targeted content in the electorate of Blair, focusing on negative influences ("Cults and Cuts"). Despite the important theme, engagement was extremely low across the board (0% reported on Labor FB/X, 0% on LNP FB). A clear miss. Result: 0 $AUSPOL.
Mission: Engage2Earn: Lets keep Sam delivering for Hawke
- Link: https://www.bulbapp.io/p/73e34939-eecb-4d1e-9f59-04a3716e97aa/failed-engage2earn-lets-keep-sam-delivering-for-hawke
- Status: FAILED ❌
- Outcome: An attempt to boost Sam Rae MP in Hawke, highlighting delivery for the electorate. Again, engagement barely registered (Facebook 5%, Instagram 7%). Result: 0 $AUSPOL.
Mission: Engage2Earn: Shayne has Blairs back
- Link: https://www.bulbapp.io/p/e69fd1a4-20a2-4ddd-bfe9-6db7ae2bcab7/failed-engage2earn-shayne-has-blairs-back
- Status: FAILED ❌
- Outcome: Another mission focused on Shayne Neumann in Blair. While X saw some activity (33%), Facebook (10%) and Instagram (0%) lagged significantly. Not enough to hit the overall targets. Result: 0 $AUSPOL.
Mission: Engage2Earn: Doubling down on Dickson
- Link: https://www.bulbapp.io/p/831d19a5-8951-4906-8a18-e8980e774480/failed-engage2earn-doubling-down-on-dickson
- Status: FAILED ❌
- Outcome: After the success of the "Ali can beat Dutton" mission in Week 3 targeting Dickson, this follow-up attempt sadly fell flat. Very low engagement on Facebook (12%) and Instagram (7%). Result: 0 $AUSPOL.
The Week 4 Scoreboard: Ouch
Let's not beat around the bush, the numbers for Week 4 are stark:
- Total Missions Completed: 4
- Successful Missions: 0
- Success Rate: 0%
- Total $AUSPOL Unlocked for Week 4 Airdrop: 0 $AUSPOL
Week 3 Flashback & Comparison: From Bad to Worse?
Comparing this to Week 3 really highlights the end-of-campaign fade-out:
- Week 3 Recap: 4 missions completed, 1 success ("Ali can beat Dutton").
- Week 3 Success Rate: 25%
- Week 3 Unlocked $AUSPOL: 11 Million $AUSPOL
(You can find the full Week 3 analysis here: https://www.bulbapp.io/p/c3799e0b-ff4a-4dec-bb36-e0892d36d43d/engage2earn-week-3-results-a-bit-of-a-dip-but-the-fight-heats-up)
The Showdown: Week 4 vs Week 3
The trend is undeniable:
- Success Rate: Dropped from a modest 25% in Week 3 to an absolute 0% in Week 4.
- Rewards Unlocked: Went from 11 Million $AUSPOL in Week 3 to ZERO in Week 4.
It seems that as we hit the absolute peak of the election campaign and the actual voting period, our collective ability to focus on and execute these specific Engage2Earn missions completely dropped off.
While the Engage2Earn results for Week 4 were undeniably disappointing, it doesn't necessarily mean the effort wasn't there in other ways. People were likely engaging intensely online, just not necessarily on our specific E2E targets. What’re youse doing?#20
BUT... Forget the Missions for a Sec – LOOK AT THE ELECTION RESULT!
Okay, so our Week 4 E2E scoreboard looks cactus. But let's zoom out to the main event: the Federal Election result! And folks, THIS is where the real story lies.
Labor Wins Majority Government!
Anthony Albanese's Labor party has won re-election, securing a (LARGE) majority government. This is a historic achievement, making Albo the first sitting PM to win back-to-back elections in over two decades! Key factors included widespread swings to Labor, with cost-of-living and housing dominating voter concerns. In a massive development, Liberal leader Peter Dutton conceded defeat and lost his own seat of Dickson to Labor's Ali France – the very candidate featured in our successful Week 3 mission! This Labor victory has been described by some analysts as a landslide.

A Battle Won Against MAGA... But Stay Alert!
This election result feels like a significant sigh of relief for many of us worried about the creep of MAGA-style politics into Australia. Labor's victory, coupled with the defeat of Peter Dutton (seen by many as embodying that harder-right shift), is undoubtedly an important step in keeping that divisive, chaotic, and often fact-denying ideology at bay.
As we've discussed before: The threat is real. While we can celebrate this outcome as a win for a more traditional, hopefully more decent Aussie political approach, we cannot afford to get complacent.
The ideologies underpinning the MAGA movement – the hyper-partisanship, the conspiracy theories, the attacks on institutions, the appeal to fear and division – haven't disappeared overnight. They still have vocal proponents here, both online and off. These forces are absolutely still strong enough to be fatal to the kind of fair-go, evidence-based society Australia strives to be. Our vigilance against this stuff must continue, day in, day out.
Our Election Campaign Engage2Earn Drive Wraps Up
As flagged in our recent campaign update post (https://www.bulbapp.io/p/eaa1ff36-8992-4c85-900e-030e818cb6e5/multi-week-campaign-update), this intensive multi-week Engage2Earn campaign focused on the federal election is now drawing to a close.
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who participated over the past four weeks. Whether you jumped on every mission or just chipped in when you could, your efforts contributed to the overall push. We unlocked a total of (20M + 35M + 11M + 0M) = 66 Million $AUSPOL for the community reward pools across the campaign! While Weeks 3 and 4 saw declining E2E success, the overall election outcome suggests our broader community values resonated with the public mood.
What's Next? The Fight Evolves!
So, the election's done, this specific E2E campaign is wrapping up... does that mean we pack up shop? Not bloody likely!
The fight to keep Australia sensible, fair, and MAGA-free doesn't end on polling day. The challenges just change shape. Disinformation campaigns will continue, policy debates will need factual grounding, and holding the government (and opposition) accountable remains crucial.
Therefore, while the election-focused Engage2Earn missions might be pausing, stay tuned! We're already thinking about the next phase. Expect new challenges, new types of missions, and new ways to use our collective online power to keep promoting truth and decency in Australian public life, post-election.
The goal remains the same: fostering a healthy democracy, free from imported toxicity. We'll need your help more than ever as we navigate the political landscape ahead.
The election result provides a moment of optimism. It shows that maybe, just maybe, the values we've been trying to amplify online align with where a majority of Aussies want the country to head.
Let's take heart from the election outcome but remain clear-eyed about the ongoing challenges. Thank you again for being part of this campaign. Keep following the Auspol profile on Bulb, keep engaging thoughtfully, and keep an eye out for announcements on what comes next!
Goodonya, stay safe, and talk soon!
