NomadLands & A Monthly Update

Hey everyone 👋
It's been a minute since I've posted, but I have plenty of time to share an update on my absence & what I've been up to in that time.
I've been working as much as possible the past couple of weeks in preparation to move back home to Michigan. I have many reasons for this but the primary reason is that there is little to no healthcare in Joplin (the EF5 tornado that struck Joplin a decade ago destroyed the hospital & even all this time later, resources are scarce here & specialist's work and live father away) & my wife has been having an awful time fully recovering to good health since our son was born. This situation has unfortunately put me in a position that has reminded me how easy it is to stumble in life when things are going well. With my wife needing to return to the hospital frequently I can't exactly predict how each day @ work is going to go (possibly having to leave and bring my wife to the hospital & watching my son until she is discharged). With no family nearby and no friends who can help watch my son so I can work, I am having to move back home near family at the end of the month, so I can work full time & my wife can seek proper care & treatment.
This move is going to be bittersweet. As much as it's necessary, I have never been happier with a previous job in my life, I'm going to miss all of my coworkers, my customers, my lifestyle, the friends I've made in my short time here, the $$ I've been making here. I'm going to miss a lot. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to leave so abruptly. However this seems slightly depressing now, there is a silver lining and I know this sadness is temporary.
I am extremely excited to be back home with family, I haven't seen my mother in 2 years and she hasn't met her grandson yet, so I'm eager to be back home to create more memories with my mom while I can.
The cannabis industry is alive and well in Michigan so I have no doubts I will find a job I love out there. Winter will be cold, but after the 125° days I experienced a couple weeks ago, I don't think the cold will bother me much at all. Michigan is a beautiful state, and I'll be much happier to be up north in a more diverse area.
One of my biggest complaints about Joplin, besides the heat, is the racism. It is very loud and proud here and quite frankly it has disgusted me ever since I've arrived. (I'm a Mohawk Native American/Italian man, I get very dark) I have experienced racism ever since I've arrived, whether it was subtle or blatantly in my face. I've been attacked while walking home @ night and threatened at my job before. I've had to bear mace violent racists once while I was here, and I had to record an officer who was about to taser me after I had been struck by a vehicle. He let the offender (white woman) leave without even a citation and treated me like the suspect immediately after she left. I will not have my son growing up here after how it's gone for me, I've had to fight to hard for a good job and a little bit of respect too many times since I've lived in the southern Midwest and Im happy to live in a melting pot again ✅
Anyways, what have I been up to since I've last posted? I have actually created a new NFT project on the $DESO Blockchain called NomadLands! I began creating NomadLands simply for fun and relaxation one day, as I was getting stressed out working on some of my other projects, and I felt like I needed something new, I didn't have to care as much about. This is how NomadLands came to be.
NomadLands - A Production by TheETHNomad exclusive to the DESO Blockchain

NomadLands is a collection of 4k pixelated landscapes, and it is a collection that is focused on beautiful pixelated artwork & the unique profit sharing capabilities that the $DESO Blockchain offers. I have been an active user of the $DESO Blockchain for two years and I felt that during the bear, and right before the founders released a major network upgrade, it would be the perfect time to mint a collection here, and I wanted it to be simple, fun, and beneficial to others, while also being beneficial to the growth of $DESO and it's DAU as well.
Below is the description of NomadLands Diamondapp Bio 👇

🔹🔷🔹 NomadLands 🔹🔷🔹
NomadLands will be a collection of 4k Pixelated digital illustrations/paintings minting on the $DESO Blockchain. This collection is focused on artwork over utility, but I think that I can create value out of this collection as well by utilizing the ease of profit sharing on $DESO.
•There will be 10 copies of each illustration minted
•This isn't a regimented collection (there is no set # of NFTs being created, this is for fun & I will be minting @ my own pace)
•20% royalties on each sale will go to different members of the community contributing to the growth of $DESO
• 10% royalties on each sale to my CC Holders
• 10% of profits reinvested into community per each initial sale
(I will use 10% of the purchase price to buy your CC)
My goal is to create excellent 🎨 & have fun with this 😎
Mint Price: 0.2 $DESO
Copies per NFT: 10

By utilizing the unique profit sharing capabilities of this Blockchain I believe that projects offering a great way to reward others while creating an engaging social experience can bring the NFT community to life on this currently small network.
How have I created NomadLands?
These are not hand drawn works of art, it would take an insane amount of time to produce all of these by hand traditionally and I could not sell these in multiples or cheap if I created these works this way. This is a fusion of sketching, layering, automation, & of course creativity. I am not simply creating text generated prompts and producing these works. I am sketching buildings, rough drafts of landscapes essentially, I then use Adobe Photoshop to take the sketch and I create a 732x732 grid around the sketch, from here I can easily make the image symmetrical and use line work & editing to get a good landscape sketch. From here I take the black & white sketch & I automate the Pixelation process by using PicsArt & Imagine AI. PicsArt colors the image and I can layer where I need to to create shadows and 3d effects where necessary. AI creates that perfect 4k Pixelated effect for the image that makes it look like a classic 90s arcade game, and from there I tweak the images to perfection. By using this process, I can create many works quickly and sell them cheap so anyone can benefit from and support my initiative on $DESO.
What I find ironic about this project is that I've put such little time & money into it however it is my only collection recording sales. In 2 weeks since launch NomadLands has recorded over 40 sales and already built a small community that is amazing! We are hosting engagement battles and polls & community members are winning cash prizes and free artwork weekly! Come check out $DESO and follow NomadLands & join the fun!
(My next post will be a detailed analysis of the $DESO Blockchain coming from and active user)
