Okay last one before you sleep, this one na true life lesson.*THE MAIDEN WHO CHOSE THE POOR MAN
In a village in Enugu, there was a very beautiful girl, Adaora. Every man wanted her.
Two men came to marry her.
First man: Chief Okoro. He has 3 cars, big house, money. But he talks to people like they are nothing. He insults his workers.
Second man: Obinna. He is a poor carpenter. He has only one small house and his handwork. But he is kind, he greets everybody, even beggars.
Adaora's family said, "Marry Chief Okoro, you will suffer no more."
Her friends said, "If you marry Obinna you will suffer, you will be carrying wood."
Adaora closed eyes and prayed. She chose Obinna, the carpenter.
Everybody laughed at her.
First year was hard. Very hard. Sometimes no food. But Obinna never raised hand on her. He would say, "Ada, sorry, tomorrow will be better." And he worked day and night.
Chief Okoro married another fine girl from next village. Within 6 months, the girl ran away. Chief beat her every day.
5 years later.
Obinna's furniture became famous. People from Lagos started ordering. He opened big workshop. He built a new house. He bought car.
Adaora was now Madam, but she still remembers how to pound in small mortar.
One day, Chief Okoro came to Obinna's workshop to order chair. He didn't know Obinna is the husband.
He saw Adaora. She was glowing, well dressed, happy.
Chief said, "Adaora, is this you? I thought you would be suffering."
Adaora smiled: "I was suffering with love. You were suffering with money. I prefer my own suffering. It had hope."
Chief bowed his head and left.
Love with respect will turn to money. But money without respect will turn to tears.
