The end of a thing, the beginning of another.

I always have this thing of thinking about how I will end a particular phase of my life. Be it a semester, a session, a tenure, anything at all; I always anticipate the end of it. My end.

Some minutes ago, I thought of the day I will pack out of the Grace Family House that I am currently staying in. The day my predecessor, Dammy Jeje who was the General Secretary of the Family House left; that day is still fresh in my memory. He had cleared his POP, packed his bags and was escorted to the gates, a car was already waiting to take him to his destination. The house members were out to see him off; our sisters were saying their goodbyes with red eyes; he enter car comot; we con dey stay in touch via internet; et cetera.

In likewise manner, I pictured myself leaving and stepping out the gates. My own pattern will be a little different if not very different. I will first turn to Mr. Daniel and thank him for everything; I will then turn to Brother Moses and give him my blessing. For these two, I will pray that the Merciful Lord who has kept me from extreme foolishness and wastages, reward them. I will say, "may my God bless and reward you".

Then I will thank Mr. Joshua for his selflessness; Okoro Chidinma Joy for her goodness; Brother Karo for his simplicity; Magini Wisdom for his sincere pieces of advice; and every other member of the house that must have positively contributed to the house and my tenure as the General Secretary. I would thank the Corpers' Coordinators and the Church.

I am now outside the gate, a serious-looking Maybach is waiting to pick me up. The doors of the car open and two beautiful dogs rush out to greet me. A husky and a golden retriever, as I will want it to be. Two huskies and a golden retriever, actually.

Then my friends will come out of the car to see me. I will be unhappy if anyone shed a tear as I step out. We meet to part and that too, is life.

I must have cleared my POP successfully by then and head out. That day will surely come, Maybach or okada, taxi or korobe, the day will come regardless of how I want it to be.

Slowly, steadily and surely, the end will come and everyone will face it. Before then, we have today to determine how our end will be. Now, not tomorrow.

May we end well.

Gratitude to everyone that has contributed positively to me. May my God bless and reward you.

Till the end of all things, Sadiq Yusuf.
