Game developer Krafton, known for the hit game PUBG, is venturing into the metaverse with a new project called Overdare. This Roblox-like mobile game built with Unreal Engine 5 aims to revolutionize how creators monetize their work by integrating Web3 wallets and USDC (USD Coin) payouts through a partnership with Circle.

Circle, the issuer of USDC, a popular stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, announced this strategic collaboration on February 26th. This partnership will allow Overdare to leverage Circle’s Programmable Wallets service, providing creators with in-game wallets and the ability to receive USDC for their content.

More than just a game, Overdare is an NFT-driven metaverse experience, co-developed by software giant Naver Z. This project aims to bridge the gap between Web2 (the current internet) and Web3 (the decentralized internet) by offering creators new avenues for income generation in the metaverse.

Overdare CEO Henry Park sees immense potential in this partnership: “Circle’s regulatory compliance guarantees creators reliable access to their earnings, making this collaboration a win for all involved.”

Echoing this sentiment, Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire believes this initiative can shape the future of digital entertainment. He emphasizes their commitment to supporting the creator economy by providing Web3 infrastructure like wallets and USDC payments to Overdare.

This announcement aligns with the growing interest in blockchain gaming tokens. Notably, the token for the Web3 game Pixel recently skyrocketed in value after listing on Binance, highlighting the potential of Web3 technology in the gaming industry.

Overdare’s collaboration with Circle is a significant step towards integrating crypto into the mainstream gaming landscape. By offering reliable USDC payouts within the game, they aim to empower creators and pave the way for a more innovative and rewarding future for the gaming industry.
