This word superheroes popped in my head today. According to Wikipedia, A superhero or superheroine is a stock character that possesses abilities beyond those of ordinary people, who typically uses their powers to help the world become a better place, or is dedicated to protecting the public, and stopping evil. Many of us have seen movies or read comics that feature superheroes. We are all familiar with the likes of batman, superman, wonder woman, spider man, captain marvel, captain America, the X-Men, Iron man, Thor, black panther to mention a few. These characters have used their abilities to do the greater good in the world. They've proven to be courageous, dependable, noble and worthy of character. Some even go as far as putting their lives on the line proving how selfless they are.
So, I guess we all have our favorite superheroes. Who's yours? Before we all get carried away with the fantasy characters, let's not forget the real life superheroes around us. The people who have helped us in one way or the other, stood by us and assisted us even when we were undeserving.
Think about the people that have influenced you and looked out for you. It could be our parents who have always cared and made sacrifices for us from the moment we were born so that we could have a better life. Our family - brothers, sisters and other relatives. What about the friends we have made as we grow. People that are worth keeping long term because they've proven to be trustworthy and reliable. Do you have mentors? People that we look up to for guidance in life. These people ensure we follow the right path and not end up doing things or making decisions that could ruin us.
Remember the saying "not all heroes wear capes". Who is that person that has made living more worthwhile for you and positive about the race of life. Don't forget that friend that took care of you when you were sick or the person that helped you go to the grocery store when you couldn't yourself. The one that helped you complete your assignment in school. It's the little things that count. So today, let's be a little bit more appreciative and say a big thank you to these wonderful people. Cheers to all those that have made positive impacts in our lives. They're worth celebrating.
