Tuz gölü fault zone is the most active fault in middle Anatolia. Moveover, Tuz gölü is the second bigest lake of Türkiye. The TGFZ is an active fault zone that stretches approximately 200 km in length and is 2-25 km wide. It trends northwest and exhibits oblique normal faulting. Based on the geological age and amount of dip-slip, the estimated slip rate of the fault is 0.052 mm/year. The TGFZ is composed of nine fault segments, as determined by structural observations and active fault mapping studies. Within the Tuz Gölü segment, four paleoseismic events have been identified through carbon-14 dating within the past 31,000 years. The slip rate of this segment is estimated to be 0.050 mm/year, which aligns with the geological slip rate. Similarly, the Akhisar-Kılıç segment has experienced three paleoseismic events within the past 23,000 years. The estimated earthquake recurrence interval for this segment is approximately 10,390 years, with an elapsed time of 2,340 years.
