Mr. Stevens was Paul's neighbor. He was over seventy. He was very smiling, kind and friendly by nature. He was a special friend of all the children in the colony. The home of Mrs. and Mr. Stevens was a favorite haunt of the children. That enthusiastic couple did not know the word 'no'.. The couple was a great guide even for adults. But for the past few days, the joy and excitement in that house had become as if someone was holding it in a pinch. Mrs. Stevens slipped and fell in the garden in the morning. They even went to the hospital. Mr. Stevens was broken inside, though Varkarni seemed very composed. Many people gasped. But the will of God. The people of the colony wanted to do a lot for Mr. Stevens. But Mr. Stevens was firm, at least he pretended to be.

Paul's mother's favorite thing to do was to chatter incessantly while she was doing something in the kitchen. For that, she must involve Paul or his father there on some pretext or the other. That afternoon she roasted chestnuts and called Paul. “Sit here and eat. "I don't want rubbish all over the house," she said, giving Paul "chestnuts."
"What a beautiful day today, isn't it Paul?" She tried to draw Paul into the conversation. "Huh," Paul said with his mouth full. Then for some time she talked about the flowers in the garden. "Did you do the trick you were told to do?" Paul asked, glancing at her. "Oh," she exclaimed unconsciously. "Mr. Stevens," she exclaimed sadly, "I never imagined they could look so sad. Now I think it was better that they never let anyone feel it. "It's punishment to see them so sad," she said. Paul peeked in. Mr. Stevens was sitting by the small tank in a very sad mood. " How long have they been sitting there. Maria, Nina and Dolly all look at them but who will do what? They want to get out of this themselves. Why talk? They themselves know so much.. But they are right, even today. They wouldn't want to sit at home. You know Paul, today was their fiftieth wedding anniversary and we were all going to celebrate it together. And tell you one?" So she looked at Paul, who was no one there. "Just sit still for two minutes, I swear." She mumbled.

After a while, as she started to make pancakes, her attention was easily drawn to the window. Her hand stopped. She watched for some time and then she felt a wonderful, light-headed feeling. She enthusiastically started making pancakes. "Paul, get yourself some hot pancakes." She is a teacher She watched happily, Paul and Mr. Stevens was having fun flying kites. Mr. Stevens was pacing around. His movement seemed very funny. Even the trace of Magha's sorrow was not visible on his face.
As she massaged Paul's head at night, she asked, "Paul, what spell did you cast on Mr. Stevens?" "Where what!" Paul exclaimed. "So what did you say to them that made them forget their grief so quickly? "I didn't say anything," Paul said. "I went to his side and held his hand and just sat for a while. Then after a while he smiled at me. Then I told him. I said, "Grandpa, I like you very much." He smiled nicely. Then after a while he said, "Come on Let's have fun". That's it!". "That much?" Saying, the mother took Paul's sin and patted him remained.
