A famous traveler. He was born on the morning of October 29, 1451 in Genoa, Italy. He moved to Portugal in 1476. Having acquired extensive geographical knowledge, Columbus gathered great experience in seafaring, supporting the idea that the earth is spherical. At that time, Spain and Portugal were competing to find a new sea route to India and China. Columbus presented his project to King Juan II of Portugal
1481-1495). The king does not accept this project. For this reason, Columbus moved to Portugal's rival, Spain, in 1484. Queen Isabella of Spain approves of this project. Finally, Columbus is able to get permission for the expedition.

On August 3, 1492, Christopher Columbus set out on his first expedition from the Spanish port of Palos with a crew of 90 people and 3 ships named "Santa Maria", "Pinta", "Ninya". On October 12, 1492, he discovered San Salvador, one of the Bahamas, Cuba on October 29, and Haiti on December 6. But he returned in 1493 due to the shipwreck of "Santa Maria".
