A Decentralized Science or DeSci Incubation Network is an organization or community that helps early-stage decentralized science (DeSci) projects get off the ground. “DeSci” refers to the movement to run scientific research using blockchain-based tools and open, community-governed structures instead of relying only on traditional institutions like universities, journals, and grant agencies.

What an incubation network typically provides

  • Funding: seed grants, token-based funding, or connections to DAOs and investors who back research projects.
  • Technical support: help with smart contracts, tokenomics, data infrastructure, and tools for things like IP-NFTs or on-chain governance.
  • Scientific and legal guidance: advice on research design, intellectual property, regulatory issues, and how to structure a project so it can work with both crypto-native and traditional science.
  • Community and mentorship: access to scientists, developers, advisors, and other founders working on similar problems.
  • Pathways to scale: introductions to labs, biotech partners, and other DAOs that can help move a project from idea to funded research.

Why they exist
Traditional science has well-known pain points: slow and competitive grant cycles, paywalled publications, hard-to-access data, and difficulty monetizing early research. DeSci projects try to address these with open data, tokenized ownership of research outputs, and community funding. But building one requires both scientific and crypto expertise, which is a rare combination. Incubators bridge that gap.

Examples in the space
Organizations like VitaDAO (longevity research), Molecule (IP-NFTs and biotech funding), and various BioDAOs under the Bio Protocol umbrella have played this kind of role, though the exact structures and names vary and the field changes quickly. In essence it’s a movement that uses blockchain and Web3 tools to change how research is funded, shared, and governed. Instead of relying on central bodies like grant committees, it spreads decision-making across a global network. It aims to cut out inefficiencies in funding, access to research, and collaboration. In practice, that can mean community-funded research, open data without paywalls, and DAOs (community-run organizations) that vote on which projects to back.

JoinCare

What is JoinCare? JoinCare is a DeSci incubation network for early-stage biomedical projects. It serve's as a bridge between the lab and clinical or commercial development because funding, evidence, expertise, and regulatory support don’t line up. JoinCare is a staged pipeline for projects, built on these pieces:

  • Expert review: scientific and medical advisors assess each project’s evidence and risks.
  • CareAgents: AI tools that organize literature, track milestones, and flag risks. Humans review the outputs, and the docs say they give no diagnosis, treatment advice, or investment advice.
  • JoinCare DAO: a community organization for screening projects, coordinating resources, and handling governance input.
  • $JC token: used for contribution records, incentives, and governance input, plus some platform features.
  • Launchpad: a gateway where projects that pass review and disclosure standards can be opened to community participation.

JoinCare is running a Pre-launch campaign where users can earn points through daily check-ins, X and Telegram tasks, and referrals, and rewards are expected to be pro-rata based on points. The reward pool size, campaign end date, and contract address have not been announced, anybody can join you don't have to be knowledgeable in DeSci to enter.
