How I Spent My Break

Hey there, I want to share with you all how I spent my break, so grab a snack and let's get started. Now, if you read my previous blog post, you know that I took a break to focus on my mental health and recharge. And man, did I recharge.

First of all, I have to admit that taking a break was not all rainbows and unicorns. I know you're all dying to know how I spent my time off, so let me fill you in. Sure, I had a lot of time to reflect, recharge, and focus on myself, but I also had a lot of time to eat junk food, and nap excessively. I also decided to kick back and relax, and by relax, I mean binge-watch all the shows I've been dying to see.

First up on my watch list was Breaking Bad. Now, I know I'm late to the game, but better late than never, right? Let me tell you, that show did not disappoint. I mean, who knew a crime series could be so steamy? I was so hooked that I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning just to see what happened next. Yep, you heard that right. I became a couch potato for a week, and it was glorious. Hey, no judgment here. Sometimes, we all need a little bit of lazy time.

But, I didn't just spend my break lounging around. Another thing I did during my break was catch up on my reading. I love reading, but I rarely have time for it when I'm in full-on content creation mode. So, I made a list of all the books I've been wanting to read and got to work. I read Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People and Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad. It was like I was on a literary rollercoaster, and I loved every minute of it.

And, of course, I spent a lot of time practicing mindfulness and meditation. I used to think meditation was a bunch of hippie-dippie nonsense, but now I'm a believer. It is a great way to reduce stress and anxiety and improve my mental clarity. I even tried some new techniques, like hot yoga and sound baths. Let me tell you, nothing is more relaxing than lying on a mat and listening to the sound of Tibetan singing bowls.

But, the best part of my break was spending quality time with my loved ones. I hung out with my family, caught up with old friends, and even had a virtual call with long distance buddies. It was refreshing to connect with people outside of work and social media.

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Seraph, you just binge-watched TV and hung out with people. That's not really a break." But, it was for me. As someone who is always on the go, it was nice to slow down and just enjoy the little things. Plus, who doesn't love a good binge-watch session?

There you have it, folks. That's how I spent my break. It was a mix of relaxation, hobbies, self-care, and quality time with loved ones. And I have to say, I feel better than ever. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and focus on yourself, and that's exactly what I did.

If you're feeling burned out or overwhelmed, take a break. It doesn't have to be all naps and Netflix, but it should be a time to focus on yourself and do things that make you happy. Trust me, it's worth it.

Thanks for reading. Stay awesome, stay inspired, and stay true to yourself. And, as always, don't forget to take breaks and have some fun along the way.
