HashPort, a subsidiary of KDDI, will launch an update enabling direct ownership of #bitcoin from 16 June 2026.
HashPort is a start-up that provides ‘HashPortWallet’, a Web3 wallet aimed primarily at consumers and businesses in the Japanese market; the app, which attracted attention at the Osaka Kansai Expo, has finally taken the next step by adding Bitcoin support.
HashPortWallet has announced a campaign to mark the launch of Bitcoin support, and it will be interesting to see whether this initiative encourages more HashPortWallet users to start holding Bitcoin.
Whilst HashPortWallet has a strong presence in the Japanese market, we hope that users will take personal responsibility to manage their crypto assets and stablecoins appropriately, so as to avoid falling into serious risks that could cause them trouble. 🤔
