I Paid $50 to Write, But Couldn't Get Paid! 🇹🇷 Stripe

I wanted to earn money by writing online. I joined Medium, paid $50 to access the monetization opportunity, and felt excited. But there was one problem: Stripe!

Living in Turkey, I couldn't easily access the payment system required to receive my earnings. So here I am: paying to earn money, but unable to collect it!

It's almost funny. My articles can travel across the world, but my money can't reach my bank account. 😂

And this isn't just about Medium. Many international platforms offer opportunities to creators but leave people in countries with payment restrictions struggling to get paid.

Dear platforms, we can write, create and reach global audiences. Why can't we receive our earnings just as easily?

I didn't sign up to become a payment-system detective. I just wanted to be a writer!
