Each and every day

The days of Snehasamela come in three seasons of the year i.e. Summer, Monsoon and Winter. This is the cycle of nature. Similar seasons come in our social life too. School-college reunions are also a season. During the cold days the sacks ripen, the sorghum husk is prepared, the young gram is sold; In this way, the bang of Snehasmelana starts at various places. School assemblies are over in a day or two, but in colleges, in the name of assembly, there is a whole week of hustle and bustle. At such times, various games, rangolis, painting, elocution competitions are held first. Their awards ceremony is always important.

The method is to call a guest from outside the village - a guest with a little name to give it. His boring speech, the fanfare of the distribution of prizes, thunderous applause and much shouting meant that the meeting was a complete success. After years of going back and forth to these programs, I am now exhausted. As the month of December and the current year as a whole draws to a close, preparations for the meet begin in earnest. The professor who is the head of the meeting arrives in Pune city immediately along with some students. Pune city is a wonderful city in Maharashtra. Here you can easily find anything you want. Hundreds of girls' parents stay in Pune with their stepdaughters in summer, as they know that Pune is the biggest market for Lag. Of course, they know that their goods will be consumed in this market at some point. The faculty members and students are also sure of the same. In Pune, someone will be the president of your friendly meeting! Hundreds of big people live here. Even if one of them hit your neck, it worked! Even if one person says no, someone else will definitely get it. We won't go back hand-waving - and their belief turns out to be true. At about nine or ten in the morning a professor-looking gentleman and a couple of young boys arrived, and I immediately wondered what their work would be like. comes, I then greet them with a serious posture befitting a stay in Pune. "Speak." That gentleman introduces himself and others. State the name of the college and the village. "Our college graduation is at the end of this month." "We want you to be the chief guest," he begins. I really don't have time at the end of the month. Busy with something else, I shake my head in the negative. "No way, I don't have a single day off that week. " After hearing this, sometimes the school teacher or professor makes a sad expression. They seem to be shocked somehow. "Hey, don't say no. When the discussion started about who to call this year, the children suggested your name first. You said you should. Now if you say no, then we will go to someone else, but..." As soon as I climbed, but the second I was cautious. College kids know what they like. According to him, number one is Amitabh Bachchan or Rajesh Khanna; After that Mithun, Govinda, Anil Kapoor etc. When they know that the cinema people are not coming, then they turn to the poor literary people. Before that, he insisted on getting Sachin, Ashok Saraf or Laxmikant.

They then turn to the author, but how is the poor professor going to break the secret? They are also right. "I'm so thankful for this choice of kids, but I really don't have time that week," I say quietly. "Then tell me another date that's convenient for you, we'll be fine..." But now I'm getting useless. Now it is realized that there is no escape from this. "Okay, but it will take me two days to go back and forth. Is that acceptable to you if I take the lecture fee without travel expenses?" That professor readily agrees with me. I overstate my salary expectations; It is also approved. feces Even if you say no, you get a pleasant shock. Money also attracts, now it seems that there is no problem to go. One or two days in this month-end week we remember that we are free, and then I am free with the betel nut of Snehasamelana. They wake up with thanks. On the way, I stop them for a moment and ask them a nagging doubt. "Why yes, is your program of Gadinrag going smoothly? Do the children listen to the guest's speech? Why shouting, rioting..." "Che: Che! We have nothing like that. We have time to time." Professor assures me.

"The boys are very quiet. And what about after your speech? Everyone will listen." Once again she goes to please me and affair is confirmed. The actual event is at ten in the morning, so I reach the village the night before. My arrangement was fine. Next day at 10 am I sit fully dressed in ceremonial clothes. Ten means half past ten, read your schedule now It has happened, but we better be prepared! No one should say that the program is delayed because of the guests, but even if it is half past ten or eleven o'clock, no one is at my residence. At half past eleven, however, my patience runs out. I have a serious doubt that this program has been cancelled. (And if so, what about your salary?) At half past eleven the professor in charge and one or two leading students arrive at my residence in fine attire.

Their postures look very smiling. I don't think they realize it's so late. I am the one who gets confused and asks, "Why yes? Why so late?" The in-charge professor says quietly, "Hey, our institute secretary hasn't come yet. How to start the program without them coming?" "So, did it come?" "Didn't come! So I came to call you right away. Let's not be late." I reach the synagogue with them. I was well received. Major professors are slowly introduced. Uncomfortably, I say to the professor, "No more tea or anything. Everything happened in the morning. it's late Let's go straight to the platform." "There is still space! The rest will have tea, we are waiting for you. Then go there." In the principal's room there is gossip for some time. tea comes I realize that twelve o'clock has come. "I was told that the kids wanted to hear my talk on humor," I patiently ask a seasoned professor. When will I speak now?" "Ah, there are still many things to be done," says the professor in a knowing tone. There are speeches, the reading of reports, the secretary's speech for a while, then your speech. At least it will be half past one, when you stand up to speak." My stomach swells. The principal insisted on a good meal the previous night. So in the morning I didn't eat breakfast. I shudder at the thought of having to deliver a speech on humor at half-past. Fortunately, the award ceremony is not today. Today is the first day. Everything happens as the professor says. Everyone from the principal to the soldier wears necklaces on me. At least fifteen-twenty necklaces fall around the neck. Others also get necklaces. There is a welcome song. Then there is a report reading and several speeches. I start to feel sleepy with hunger, but the number of students sitting in front of me seems to increase rather than decrease. I keep staring at them in amazement. Otherwise, what else will you do? Literally after 1:30 in the afternoon, I stand up for the speech. Crows are screaming in the stomach; But the responsibility of entertaining the children has come to me.

Children are sitting very quietly in front. Even in their hometown, it is so late. I start the speech by making a joke about the necklace itself. He tells them, "I am very afraid to come to this part of yours, because there are many necklaces around the neck. I am not a leader to receive so many necklaces. I don't have this experience. So feel very hesitant. Hey, I'm a normal guy. How many necklaces do you get? The right two! One at the end and one at the end..." The boys laugh. Applause. I feel a little lost. Then my eloquence is usual starts Children seem very tolerant. They stay till the end, not only that, but they also laugh and clap their hands from time to time. At quarter past three my speech ends, there is a roar of applause. My return train is immediately within an hour. I say to the principal, "I am hungry now, let's eat something and then leave." In this mess, the principal arranges my meals according to caste. They deliver to the station by their own car. Ten-fifteen children are seen enthusiastically gathering at the station to say goodbye. Saying goodbye to them, I sit in the car and let out a deep sigh, remembering in my mind which village is the next meeting.
