“ An adult can sit to see things that a child climbing a tree top cannot” is a very popular saying in our country, yet most of us do not understand it’s true significance. This is the power of experience.Experience as we all know is not just the best teacher but the only teacher with the greatest impact. A pupil or student may likely forget what is taught by a teacher but he or she will never forget her life lessons through experience.

What makes a experience the best teacher?

Experience is the product of mistakes. Life Lessons are learnt based on the number of mistakes we are able to learn from. As a person ages, he or she comes across situations that need them navigate through. And navigating through such situations may give rise to mistakes and hence experience. This is the main reason why the above saying is true.
When mistakes are made, two things are derived. It is either we learn from them or we overlook them and keep making same mistakes.
The former gives birth to experience and the latter produces insanity.

Albert Einstein once said that “ we cannot solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created them” but insane people go through the cycle of doing the same thing using the same method but expecting a different result. This miracle can never happen as mistakes are meant to be learnt from to make us better people and give us life lessons that we may use to teach the younger generation.

So as a young person, instead of stepping on the same landmines that people before you stepped on, why not get a mentor and learn from their reservoir of knowledge (experience). This will help you reach your goal faster than they did. It will give you the opportunity to learn new things as you have moved beyond where your mentor stopped.

In a nutshell, life lessons are summation of the various mistakes we have made in life and the way we corrected them. This constitutes our experience. Therefore, do not be afraid of making mistakes but fear the insanity of doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting a different result. This is the worst experience in life
