TAIKO Katla Testnet (Alpha-6) is now live!
Important notice before starting: As we know, these transactions are not on a mainnet, where we spend a fee. We take our time on the testnet and try to get a potential airdrop. So please always do your own research as well.
TAIKO has just announced that the Katla (Alpha-6) testnet is live.
What about Jólnir (Alpha-5)?
Jólnir is going to be deprecated on January 31st, 2024.

In this post, I would like to share what types of activities can be done for this new testnet phase of TAIKO. So we may maximize our chances and be eligible for a potential TAIKO token airdrop.
RPC: https://rpc.katla.taiko.xyz. We don’t have to add it from here. If we open the native bridge page, the new test networks can be added easily.
First, we need Holesky test tokens. We can get them from the faucet.
Bridges:
Native Bridge
We can receive some Katla testnet tokens from the bridge.
After receiving testnet tokens, we can get Horse tokens from the faucet. Then we can also bridge these Horse tokens from Holesky to Katla network. Vice versa can also be done for diversity of transactions.
After getting TTKOk tokens by swap, TTKOk can be bridged, too.

We can do swap and pool transactions on this app. We can try to use all types of activities for each pair.
Bridging NFTs
This is new for TAIKO. We can bridge NFTs anymore, and for that, we can use native bridge again.
I’ve come up with a way to use this NFT bridge. It’s like this:
We can mint that NFT on Holesky:

After minting, if the NFT does not come when we click the scan button, we can import it manually.
We go to Holesky Explorer and find the contract address and token ID.
We add the information manually, import the NFT, as shown in the image below, and bridge the NFT.
