bitFlyer, one of Japan’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has begun offering Solana, which boasts the fourth-highest market capitalisation among blockchain native tokens.

There are no transfer fees for sending funds to private wallets, and the minimum transfer amount is set at 0.0002 SOL per transaction.

bitFlyer’s limited range of cryptocurrency listings had been a source of criticism, and the situation was indeed rather dire in the eyes of the majority of people in Japan. Now, bitFlyer has finally begun offering Solana.

This exchange was where I first began trading cryptocurrencies, and I am truly delighted that it has managed to remain Japan’s leading cryptocurrency exchange to this day.

However, rival SBI VC Trade has seen rapid growth and has been striving to expand its corporate scale through mergers and acquisitions of small and medium-sized Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges. Recently, they have announced the listing of JPYSC and RLUSD in quick succession. This is a desperate attempt to expand their corporate scale in a bid to wrest the title of Japan’s leading cryptocurrency exchange from bitFlyer.

However, it is SBI VC Trade that makes opening an account particularly difficult amongst Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges, and this has inevitably led to a poor reputation amongst retail investors. It is essential that such cryptocurrency exchanges provide a fair and free platform where anyone can trade cryptocurrencies, and I must say that SBI VC Trade’s conservative mindset and approach are misguided.

I intend to continue supporting bitFlyer so that it remains a unique and unrivalled cryptocurrency exchange, whilst also speaking out strongly on the topics of cryptocurrency trading, blockchain and stablecoins in Japan.
