Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan has taken legal action against National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged violations of his fundamental rights.
In a motion filed by his lawyer, Olujoke Aliyu, Gambaryan seeks relief from Justice Inyang Ekwo, asserting that his detention and confiscation of his passport breach the constitution.

Additionally, Nadeem Anjarwalla, Binance's Africa regional manager, who escaped custody, filed a separate suit before Justice Ekwo, also challenging his rights' infringement.
Both Gambaryan and Anjarwalla sued the Office of NSA and EFCC, seeking similar relief.

Gambaryan, a US citizen overseeing financial crime compliance at Binance, demands release from custody, return of his passport, and an injunction against further detention related to Binance inquiries. He also seeks a public apology and full indemnity costs.

In support of his case, Gambaryan explains his visit to Nigeria with Anjarwalla for discussions with ONSA and EFCC, denying any wrongdoing during the meeting or otherwise.
Represented by T.J. Krukrubo, Gambaryan and Anjarwalla's suits faced an unrepresented response from the respondents in court.

Krukrubo notified the court of their withdrawal from representing Anjarwalla, possibly due to his disappearance from custody.
Justice Ekwo adjourned the case to allow Gambaryan to seek legal representation and the respondents to respond.

In Gambaryan's case, Krukrubo requested an adjournment as the respondents' deadline to respond was approaching.

The judge adjourned both matters to April 8 for further proceedings.
