Time: The reason I am off social media

First of all, I am not here to tell people what they should do or how they should live their life. This article is just me expressing what I feel.
It is such a cliche topic to write on but I thought why not. Anyway, I would not go deep into how good quitting social media is for you, what it can do to your health, blah blah blah.
The only reason I am off social media is because of Time. I watched and watched and watched and watched myself waste time for a long time and at the end of the day I always thought why don’t I have enough time? I know you would say one should follow what your heart tells you to do because it's your life and you live once, blah blah and crap and etc. Exactly because you live once, you need to utilize time properly.

Look, Social media is not bad at all if you know how to use it. If you have self-control and a strict schedule. Smart people make money from it so it's not bad. Also, I do not care about people faking their life, but I do have a problem when other people start judging themselves and start comparing their life to that fake ones.( More about this in some other blog )
Anyway, It has been more than 3 years now and I just use WhatsApp(to connect to family), youtube and quora. Even though I use youtube, I avoid watching crappy videos. I prefer watching videos about Space, life, facts, information etc. The plus point is it helps in making conversation with other people. For example, I have a friend from Iran and we were supposed to meet, so I decided to read something about Iran if we run out of conversations, so I ended up watching a business insider video on Iranian rugs or Persian rugs. First of all Hats off to the people who spend so much time making that beautiful rug with precision. I recommend that video to you all. I ended up discussing the topic with him, learnt a lot simultaneously and it opened up the way for more conversations. So I utilized my time by learning something. And if you are learning something from social media then good for you. Do not let social media control you, you control it. After all, it is made for your benefit.
Withdrawal symptoms
If you want, try to go off social media for a week. You will realise the amount of time you save up is crazy. At first, you will feel calm then you will feel a bit irritated because of so much free time that you do not know what to do with it. Try reading a book or talking to your mom and dad. Ask them to tell you some story or talk to your grandparents. If not then look up at the stars at night and think how deep that sky is and etc.
How else would you look up if you keep looking down at your smartphone?
This is all I can write in such a short time.
