The Port of Genoa consists of the old port and the new port. There is a 5-kilometer-long breakwater outside the new port. The water area length of ​​this port is 50 square kilometers, and the length of the wharf is 22 kilometers, it can be used for more than 200 ships to dock at the same time and 100 cargo ships to load and unload goods at the same time.

The whole port has more than 300 modern cranes and lifters, more than 80 automated cranes, more than 200 floating platforms for transshipment operations, more than 70 warehouses and a large number of ceiling cargo yards. In addition, 25 specialized berthing stations have been opened for barges, and a 50,000-square-meter parking lot has been built nearby.

The earliest industries that emerged in Genoa was papermaking, oil refining and food processing.
