Mr. Johnson wanted a big job. Marketing Manager at a big company in VI.

Problem: He didn’t have the experience.
Solution: Photoshop and confidence.

On his CV he wrote:
`*Fluent in French, Spanish, and German*`
`*Managed a team of 50 people at Unilever*`
`*Expert in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Analytics*`

He got the interview. First round went well. HR liked him.
Second round: `The CEO will join. He lived in France for 10 years.`

Interview day. CEO walked in.
*CEO:* `Bonjour Monsieur Johnson. Parlez-vous français?`
Mr. Johnson: `...Bonjour... oui...` _sweating_
*CEO:* `Parfait. DĂŠcrivez votre plus grande rĂŠussite chez Unilever.`
Mr. Johnson: `Erm... my greatest... achievement... was... teamwork?`

Silence.
*CEO:* `Et Excel? Pouvez-vous faire un VLOOKUP maintenant?`
Mr. Johnson opened laptop. Typed `=VLOOKUP(` ... then froze.

He stood up. `Sir, I’m sorry. I lied on my CV. I don’t speak French. I don’t know VLOOKUP. I just really needed this job.`

Everyone expected security.
But CEO laughed. `Finally, an honest person. We’ve interviewed 20 people with perfect CVs. All of them were lying.`

*CEO:* `We’re not hiring you for Marketing Manager. But we have a Sales Executive role. Entry level. No French required. Just honesty and hustle. You start Monday.`

2 years later, Mr. Johnson was actually Marketing Manager. For real this time. With real Excel skills and night classes in French.

*Moral:* A lie can open the door, but only truth can keep you in the room.
