The Seat Of Eckstein High V

Ada was distracted from his computer by the screeching cries of a student. He quickly arose and looked out the window through which he captured the frightful sight of Erasmus viciously flogging a child no more than 13 years of age. The child danced around in pain, screaming and crying, but Erasmus had a firm grip on his side trouser that he could not escape and he kept landing those lashes. But more curiously, there was a line of 4 boys and two girls kneeling. Erasmus landed one last lash and let go of the screaming boy, next on the line was a tiny child, probably 8 or 9 but his size would suggest younger.

"Hug the pillar." Erasmus said with a calm frightening demeanor.

The wee child was shivering down to his feeble core, he began to cry and beg even without being touched. Erasmus repeated his instruction but louder and scarier which forced the child to turn, and in that split second of him turning, even before his arms tried to go around the pillars, Erasmus struck his bottom with one thundering stroke that threw the child to the ground causing him to dance on the floor like an injured snake.

"Enough!!!" Ada shouted from his office balcony.

He couldn't just stand there and watch this little child be dismembered by Erasmus's unholy strokes, he was fuming with rage for Erasmus and pity for the child. He quickly rushed downstairs and walked radically to Erasmus. He could have sworn he saw a quick flash of smile on Erasmus's face

"Doctor Crown! Do you want to kill these children?!" He shouted.

"Doctor Taemerys, these children are due their strokes." Erasmus spoke loudly and yet calm.

"What does that even mean?! Whatever it is they have done wrong does not justify this thug justice, if at all you can call this justice." Ada was wound up. "Students, go back to your classes!"

Erasmus chuckled for a bit and then the words "You wouldn't dare!" strongly emerged his lips. Ada didn't know if that was a threat to him or to the students, either way, he wasn't going to be demeaned out here. Students and even teachers were all over the balconies of all the classrooms and staff rooms looking down at what was going on. The building was a massive five storey E shaped structure and this whole debacle was occuring in the middle of one of the eyes of the E.

"What did you say?" Ada asked Erasmus bitterly.

"I don't see the need to repeat myself as no one here is deaf."

"Erasmus!"

"Ada." He took a deep breath. "If you have nothing else to say, can I continue disciplining my students."

Ada wasn't saying anything, he was panting heavily with a stern frown on his face. Erasmus turned to the kid he was flogging and instructed him to hold the pillar again. The child did so sobbing and Erasmus raised his cane, about to deliver the stroke when Ada caught his hand and pulled the cane from him.

"Ada, what do you think you are doing?" Erasmus asked in an unhinged manner.

Ada broke the cane in two and shouted at the kneeling students to go back to their classes but they still didn't move. He threatened to flog them if they don't leave but they still didn't move, their fear of Erasmus was greater than whatever they felt for him. Ada looked back at Erasmus who gave him a smile that channeled the devil.

"Do what he says." Erasmus said in a calm tone and all the students ran to their classes.
