Following the Super Falcons' five-game losing run, former Super Falcons winger Stella Mbachu thinks there is no cause to panic.

Prior to losing friendlies against the USA (twice) and Japan, the previous African champions lost the semi-final and third-place games at the WAFCON in August.

After his team's terrible performance, Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has faced harsh criticism, but Mbachu has urged restraint as the group continues its World Cup 2023 preparations.

In a conversation with The PUNCH, Mbachu, 44, claimed that Waldrum was utilizing the friendlies to get to know the players and get the team ready for the 2023 Women's World Cup.
“The coach is taking his time to build his team, get to know the players, and bring new players to the team. The ones that played in the friendlies against the United States are not the same set of players that went with the team to Japan. So, the coach is trying to assess the players and bring in the U-20 players to join the team.
“There is no need to worry because the World Cup is still nine months ahead, let the coach take his time to test all the players and know the ones that best fit his plans for the tournament.” She added.
