Yes, that's right, you can't pour from an empty cup. To be able to sharpen someone, you have to sharpen yourself. This means you need to continue to take your personal development very seriously.
Expand your knowledge, and grow your network. This way, you will be in a better position to provide value to your partner.

Get Invested in the Work they do:

It is understandable if your partner's career is an entirely different path from yours, a field you don't really have an interest in, it might be difficult to keep up. It doesn't still mean you shouldn't make effort. You might not know every little detail of the work they do, but at the very least you should have a well-rounded idea.
That way you can assist them when they need someone to bounce ideas off. You can even help them find the solution to the problem that may arise.

Introduce them to Learning Opportunities:

It's not cool if you are busy developing yourself and your partner is just lagging behind. You will end up outgrowing each other, and this creates an imbalance in your relationship.
