Best recipe for Creamy Macaroni and Cheese



Try this yummy home recipe now to make the ultimate macaroni and cheese


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)


Instructions for cooking Macaroni and Cheese


Cook the Macaroni:


Boil the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. Normally 8-10 minutes for dry pasta. If your not sure how long to cook the pasta for then best to undercook it a little and keep trying it.



Prepare the Cheese Sauce:


In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk continuously to form a smooth roux. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps. There are many diferent ways of preparing a cheese sauce so make sure to select the ones that you love the most.



Add Cheese and Seasoning:


Once the milk thickens, add the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Stir until melted and creamy. Add mustard powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.


Combine with Macaroni:


Mix the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni, ensuring every piece is well-coated.


Bake (Optional):

For a golden crust, transfer the macaroni and cheese into a baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.



Ready to Serve Macaroni and Cheese :


If baking, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly. Otherwise, serve immediately.
