The Streak For Solana Ends at 351 Days of Uptime
After over a year the Solana Network suffered its first major outage in over a year. At the time of this post the blockchain had just begun to run again after suffering from a 5 hour outage. Compared to previous outages this outage does not appear to have impacted Solana’s price much compared to the history of price impacts when it comes to outages.
This is something that stuck out due to the price swings that outages have traditionally caused. With the insane popularity around the second Solana phone that has been announced, more than 60,000 preorders last I had seen, the token has seemed to have overcome the network outage news. It appears to lead credence to the idea that people who are utilizing and trading in this blockchain have come to understand the risks that go along with it but are okay with this and thus overlook things like this outage.
While Solana has been on a roll when it comes to outages this one shows that it is still not 110% “fixed” and still is going through growing pains. However, even though people are going to bash Solana as this has happened again no other blockchain seems to be even close to the amount of growth and development on their chain. Solana has managed to handle huge surges before and instead of bashing it from going down again what we should be watching for is to see if this fix addresses the issue and the blockchain stays up or if it crashes again. If it crashes again that will show us that there is a bigger issue at play and we need to further scrutinize what is going on.
