Crypto Media is a great source of information, it's very easily digested as it's all organised for you. Not a lot in it outside the mainstream projects though and when that information gets to you it's usually old.

Crypto Twitter is a great source of information too, but it's literally everything so the noise can often overpower any signal. Hard to identify what the people posting have to do with the projects they're talking about too.

Crypto Discords are kinda the best of both worlds. They have the structure that Crypto Twitter does not (and can never have) but go deeper then Crypto Media can (or will ever be able to). The downside is you need to actually be in the Discords to see the information.
There's a lot of interesting stuff that gets announced in Discords that I see, that others don't.
I'm sharing anything I think is particularly noteworthy for people outside of the Discords.
And quite frankly I love what these teams are doing and think it should get more airtime so I'm trying to do my bit to make that happen.

I post daily on my Solcial account (see link at the bottom of the post) and on BULB I'm doing a weekly summary of those posts in a blog post (like the one you're reading now!).


The rules I've set for myself are pretty simple:

1. I only post from the official announcements channel/s in each Discord. No gated token/NFT gated channels and no discussions from the channels.
2. I only post what I find interesting. Your mileage may vary. I do have a soft spot for alpha though...
3. I use the same prompt each time to generate a cover image for the post: discord weekly round up

What is V2?

Trader Joe has recently been targeted by highly sophisticated fraudsters who have set up fake sponsored ads on Google. These ads mask their URL to appear as our legitimate URL which easily deceives Users who search for ‘Trader Joe XYZ’.

Should a user click on this sponsored ad, they are led down a path that culminates in their wallet being emptied in just a few clicks. Most users would be none the wiser due to the unprecedented level of deception used in this scam, something we haven't encountered in our over two years of operation. It's a dangerously convincing scam.

These sponsored ads cunningly replicate the exact URL of Trader Joe, thereby misleading many into clicking on the malicious site. The front end of this counterfeit website is nearly indistinguishable from ours in every aspect, and it would deceive anyone who isn't extremely vigilant or a regular visitor of the platform. Almost every detail is perfect.

Upon clicking the ad, users encounter a 'choose your wallet' popup, this is the only clue that it isn't Trader Joe’s genuine site as the wallet connection integration is not official and representative of the ‘wagmi’ integration. However, If a user chooses a wallet option that they are presented with, the malicious site quickly scans the contents of their wallet. It then redirects them to the blockchain where most of their assets are held, and prompts them with a message to sign.

Signing this message would effectively empty your holdings. In essence, users are just three clicks away from losing everything and they will likely not notice one element of this experience that seems out of place.

Combating such threats is an uphill task. While we strive to shield our community and raise awareness, the ever-evolving nature of scams, especially on popular web2 platforms, remains a persistent challenge. Just as one threat is neutralized, another, more evolved one takes its place.

The big piece of advice here is BOOKMARK the Trader Joe URL and only ever access it directly from that Bookmark. Do not use Google or other Web2 search engines.

The impact we are seeing is that users on certain ISPs (British Telecomms and Spectrum) are having difficulty access the site due to a blacklist being adopted. The Trader Joe team are in contact with mulitple 3rd party services and in the active process of having the official URL removes from various blacklists (that are adopted by ISPs). There are workarounds to access, if you need assistance please open a ⁠🆘・support ticket.

Here’s a simple, four-step process to migrate your OATHv1 to OATHv2. Please refer to the attached graphic to understand what actions are required or read below for simple steps to get started.

Access the Migration Portal

Start by visiting https://app.ethos.finance/migrate on the specific network you’re holding OATH tokens on.

Authorize the OATHv1 Spend

You’ll need to provide authorization for the system to access and utilize your OATHv1 tokens. To do this, find and click on the “Approve” option.

Swap OATHv1 for OATHv2

After approval, proceed to the “Swap” option. This step will exchange your old OATH tokens for the new version.

Decide on Your Next Steps

With your new OATHv2 tokens you can:
