Story:- Stop Complaining
After some time, a shining car stopped near him, seeing which Akash was surprised for a moment whether it was the cab he had booked? His guess was right, it was the same cab.
A driver came out of the car and opened the back door of the car for Akash. As soon as Akash sat down, he handed him a sheet of paper and said, “Sir! Our mission statement is written on this paper. You sit comfortably and read it. Till then I will put your luggage in the trunk.”
“Oh” Shocked, Akash took that ‘mission statement’ and started reading it. It was written in it – “Welcome to our cab service. We will try to reach you at your destination at a cheap price, safely and as quickly as possible. You will not have to face any kind of problem. Your journey will be auspicious.”
After reading the ‘Mission Statement’, a smile appeared on Akash’s face. Then he took a look inside the car. The car was clean. By then the cab driver had sat on the driving seat.
He turned and asked Akash, “Sir! Is the AC temperature okay? If it needs to be increased or decreased, please feel free to let me know.”
Akash said, “No, it is not necessary. The temperature of the AC is fine.”
After this the cab driver extended a card towards the sky and said, “Sir, this card has complete details of all the radio stations. Any radio station you want to listen to, please let me know. I will play that.”
Akash took the card. Then the cab driver said, “Sir! All today's news papers are also available here. Whatever you want to read, let me know.”
Akash took a newspaper to read.
The cab driver again asked, “Sir! Would you like some tea or coffee?”
Akash replied, “Actually, I wanted a soft drink.”
“‘There is a small fridge right in front of you, sir. You will find chill water there. Some variety of soft drinks will be available. If you want, you can also eat ice cream.”
Akash was surprised by the facilities provided in the car. He was thinking about all this when the cab driver again said, “Sir, if you want to ask something about this city, then I can tell you about it. In this way you will get information about this place and the route will also be cut easily.”
Akash did not ask about the city, but he asked a question which he was thinking for a long time, “Brother, tell me, do you always treat every customer in the same way? Do you talk like this? Do you give him all these facilities?”
The cab driver replied, “Yes sir.” But I started this only a year ago. Actually, I have been driving a cab for 5 years. But he did not do all this earlier. This change brought about a story in me. One day while driving a cab, I was listening to a story on the radio. That was the story – of the eagle and the duck. In that story it was told how the ducks always complain by quacking. The eagle always keeps flying high in the sky. It was told in that story that if we want to become something different, then we will have to do something different from this world. Just this story stuck in my mind. I looked at my fellow cab drivers and found that they were all doing the same work I was doing. He worked tirelessly all day long and kept complaining about life. I was also doing the same. But that day I thought that I should do something different. Just from that day I slowly started changing my cab. Gradually, I started adding one facility at a time and am still doing so. You are very lucky sir that you got the chance to come on a drive with me today, because my cab is always booked. Once a passenger comes with me, he always wants to go with me. He takes my number and calls whenever needed. Many times, when I get booked, I send it to my friends and do not let them face any problem. You also take this card of mine, sir. If you ever need me, please remember me.”
Akash had never found such a good driver till date. This journey became special for him.
Lesson
Stop complaining about the duck in life, because then life will become just a complaint. There will be no more fun in life. If you want to enjoy life, you will have to keep your thoughts high and fly high in the sky like a falcon. Something different from the rest of the world will have to be done. Only then will you be able to achieve a different name and a different position for yourself. Just do something that others want to follow you and want to be like you. This is the flight of life.
