Another fascinating tradition is the preparation of the Christmas feast. Families take great care in crafting a delectable spread, with dishes like sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls), cozonac (sweet bread with a nut or jam filling), and delicious piftie (aspic).

These meals are lovingly prepared and shared with loved ones as a symbol of abundance and togetherness. People in Romania also celebrate the arrival of the "Little Star" (Steaua), representing the Star of Bethlehem. It is a tradition for children to dress up as angels or shepherds and go from house to house, singing carols and reciting poems in exchange for small gifts or treats.

This practice, known as "Colindatul," adds a sprinkle of innocence and cheer to the festive season. On the night of Christmas Eve, many Romanians attend a midnight church service called "Masa de Gallo" or "The Rooster's Mass."
