A Dark Past and the Power Grab
The foundations for the current crisis were laid amidst scandal. ZondaCrypto rose from the ruins of the BitBay exchange, whose founder, Sylwester Suszek, disappeared in March 2022. Control was seized by Przemysław Kral, Suszek’s former lawyer. Experts point out that even then, "red flags" were flying over the exchange regarding links to fuel mafias and a lack of transparency regarding reserves.
April 2026: The Month of Collapse (Timeline)
- Early April: Liquidity Issues – Clients lose access to their funds en masse. The company blames "technical issues," but on-chain data reveals that the "hot wallet" (funds for current withdrawals) had dwindled to a mere 20,000 PLN.
- April 12: Broken Promises – Deadlines for restoring withdrawals, announced by CEO Kral, pass unmet. Money does not return to clients.
