Touched Down Singapore

The sun burned my body when my plane landed at Changi Interna- tional Airport. It was hot and humid and warmer than Monaco. You can feel the warm weather even from inside the plane. I've read on the news that there are signs of heavy rains during the race, so I thought I'd be welcomed by the cool air, with the drizzle when the plane landed. I still have a day left before the first day of the Singapore Grand Prix, and I thought of spending it at the spa and resting before the big day tomorrow-it wasn't my big day, but I feel the thrill already.

I can't wait to see and feel the thrill from the sound of high-pitched car engines as the car turns on the tight corners, making everyone's hearts beat faster as they can't stop looking at who will take first place. Despite which one you like the most, I feel
like most of them would come just to see the thrill of it.

Someone is going to bring you the pass upstairs.

I asked my brother to get me one as I was unsure which country I would go to. My trip to Singapore was a last-minute schedule as I didn't plan it when I left Monaco. I told my brother I would stop at the Grand Prix before I went home.

"C'est la dernière, je promets." I told him two years ago.

The car rides only took me less than half an hour and were quick and smooth. The traffic was chill around this time, even when a tourist was pouring into the airport for tomorrow's big day. I guess the
government knows how to utilize public transportation so it won't get too crowded on the road. I must say that Singapore's public trans- portation is excellent, clean, and neat, and there are many options for stops or the destination of each vehicle. The map was pretty easy to read, and I remember the last time I went to Singapore Grand Prix was when I still dated my ex-boyfriend. We tried to ride one of the MRT, and it went straight to the lower floor of the Marina Bay Sands, which I must say that it's convenient for the first- timer, unlike the public transport in Europe, which is mostly outdated.

"Let's do something we have never done before," Gab suggests.

"I'm not going to do some stupid things you're about to tell us," Daniel warned. Gab has always wanted us to do something that was
not normal to any of us, and Daniel was always the one who put the line between what we should do and what we should not do. In short, Gab was the crazier one between the two of them.

"Gab, des gens nous regardent." He said.

I feel like the people you grow up with will shape to be who you are in the future, just like how different they were even when they went to the same school since they were kids. Daniel said that Gab's uni friends were a bit troubled. There was one who got caught having drugs on his flats, others said something racist to their friends, and one stole someone else watches and sold them at the black market as he wasn't fit for the trust funds his grandparents set up.
And when I asked what makes him want to stay friends with them, he said they are just lonely kids who want to make anyone they love see them, which he relates. His parents were only available when public involvement or any media were present, just like when his parents signed him up for The Pearson Foundation, which involves many people from, not only from Monaco but everywhere. While Daniel and I were lucky to have parents that still make time for us despite their busy schedules, Gab's parents were the newcomer in Monaco, while mine and Daniel have been living in Monaco for generations.

I told him to be careful about who he stays friends with, as it would be complicated if he got into trouble.

Promets d'être prudent.
Thankfully he never did anything wrong, well, not until the day I broke up with him.
