Trading Education My Experience with Forex Precision vs Crypto Momentum
Hi everyone. Today I want to share some quick education about the differences I found while trading Forex and Crypto. A lot of people ask why I use SMC on both markets but get different results. The answer is simple every market has its own DNA or habits.
EUR/USD: The King of Precision
In the Forex market, especially EUR/USD, price action is very methodical and neat. This market really respects technical levels.
Liquidity Sweep Take a look at the green arrow in November. Smart money usually "cleans out" retail stop losses before they actually move the price up.
Demand Mitigation That green box is my Demand Order Block. Look how cleanly the price came back down in April just to pick up the remaining orders and then bounced perfectly.
FVG Magnet The gray box above it is a Fair Value Gap. In Forex, these empty areas often act like magnets that pull the price in to fill the gap before continuing the trend.
The Lesson Trading Forex requires extra patience. If you are willing to wait for the price to hit a specific zone, the results are usually very clean.
Bitcoin: Riding the Momentum
Now, Bitcoin is a different story. This asset moves very wildly because it is driven by big momentum.
S/R Flip This is a very important part of the lesson. Look at that long green box. Originally, this area was Supply (where people sell), but once Bitcoin broke through it strongly, the zone immediately flipped into Support or a new floor.
Momentum over Gaps Unlike Forex, Bitcoin often doesn't care about the FVG if the momentum is strong. Price can just blast through the gray areas without looking back.
No FOMO Even when the price looks like it’s flying, I always make it a habit to wait for the price to retest that new Support zone. Chasing a price that has already pumped usually ends badly.
The Lesson Trading Crypto is all about following the trend. Once you see a zone flip from Supply to Support, that’s when you follow the momentum.
Final Thoughts
So, which one is better? It depends on your personality.
- Use Forex if you like neat setups and high precision.
- Use Crypto if you prefer chasing explosive moves and following strong trends.
