🇷🇺 Russia considers allowing cryptocurrencies for international payments

◾Russia's Finance Ministry Head says the country is considering allowing cryptocurrencies to be used for international payments.


◾The officials are still discussing how to regulate the country’s crypto market and use of digital currencies, with the finance ministry opposed to the central bank’s calls for a blanket ban.

◾Allowing crypto as a means of settlement for international trade would help counter the impact of Western sanctions, which has seen Russia’s access to traditional cross-border payment mechanisms limited.

🇸🇻 El Salvador could reverse crypto law in future

◾Chief strategy officer of Blockstream, Samson Mow warns that El Salvador's Bitcoin Law could be repealed by a future government which means that the world's biggest cryptocurrency would no longer be legal tender.

◾He also called the nation "patient zero" adding that it's crucial that President Nayib Bukele succeeds.


◾Mow also confirms that his new company is working with El Salvador to build digital infrastructure and is a critical part of the equation as other countries consider elevating BTC to the same status as their local currency.
