Making a house feel like a home requires a lot of living there.
There is a lot of light and shade, and you occasionally have to travel.
Prior to truly "appreciating the things you left behind,"
An appetite for them, with them always on your mind.
No matter how wealthy you become, how expensive your chairs and tables are, or how luxurious your lifestyle is, it won't feel like home to you until your spirit has been wrapped around everything.

Home isn't something you can buy with gold or move into in a flash;
Before it becomes a house, there must be a lot of people living there;
There must be births inside the walls, after which you must raise the children to be good men and women;
Gradually over time, when they've grown into your heart, you find that you wouldn't part with anything they've ever used:
If you could, retain the thumbprints on the door as well as the old high chairs, playthings, and tiny shoes they wore.

You must sit and sigh in order to get home, and you must weep.
an awareness that Death is drawing near while you stand by a loved one's bed;
Close the woman's eyes and silence her sweet voice as you wait for Death's angel to arrive in the stillness of the night.
When your tears are dry, you'll realize that your home is more precious and consecrated because of these heart-wrenching scenes;
You can never escape the wonderful thoughts of she who was and is no longer tugging at you.

You must sing and dance for years, play and romp, and more.
Use the possessions you have every day to teach yourself to cherish them;
Every year, even the roses that surround the porch must bloom.
Before they become a part of you, think about a dear person who once loved them and taught them to run before.
They behave in such a way that they would get the morning sun;
You must adore every stone and brick from the cellar to the dome:
