The Welder and the Big Contract
Emeka was a welder in Ogbomoso. Small shop, big dreams.
Every day he welded gates, burglaries, and student beds at LAUTECH. People would pass and say “This boy is just managing.”
One Sunday after Mass at *Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Maryland*, the priest announced:
_“The church needs a new gate. Strong one. It should last 50 years.”_
Big contractors came with big English and bigger prices.
Emeka just submitted a paper with 3 lines:
*“I will use the best materials. I will finish in 2 weeks. And I will pray on it.”*
They laughed and gave it to a big company.
Two months later, that gate started rusting.
The priest remembered Emeka’s 3 lines. He called him.
Emeka worked day and night. Sparks flew. When he finished, the gate was so solid people took pictures.
At the dedication, the Bishop came. He touched the gate and said,
_“This is not just iron. This is faith welded together.”_
From that day, Emeka’s shop never lacked work. Schools, churches, even the palace called him.
Now when people ask him his secret, he just points to his shop sign:
*“God first. Then fire. Then iron.”* 💪
