The Key That Still Works

I’m doing well, Steve. Thank you for checking.

The office is fine. Your key is still in the drawer. Nobody made a new copy. We still use it to lock up on Fridays. It turns smoothly, like you just used it yesterday. Some things don’t need replacing.

Lagos was kind this week. No wahala, no last-minute drama. We delivered the project, reconciled the accounts, and the team showed up with ideas. I handled the supplier and made sure everything was documented properly. We’re keeping the standard, sir.

I hope you’re doing well too. I hope you have peace where you are. I hope you’re not carrying the weight of this place on your shoulders anymore. You did your part. Now rest.

_Que sera, sera._ Whatever will be, will be. We’re not trying to force doors open. We’re using the keys we have, one day at a time.

Your name is still on the access list. Your key still works. The door still opens to the place you built.

Come back when you’re ready. We’ll hand it to you, and you can lock up yourself again.
