Crypto's Buried Treasure
Of course I'm talking about TreasureDAO ($MAGIC). Who else?
But why now? Crypto is about timing more than anything. And now is the time to get into $MAGIC, especially if you plan on making crypto gaming your major play in this bull market (because you don't understand what the hell a DePIN or modular blockchain is) 😂.
Timing is great on $MAGIC because...
1️⃣ The sector (guilds/infra/incub) is moving
2️⃣ $MAGIC is a laggard but not a dud
3️⃣ Team built during bear
4️⃣ Team taking aggressive action during bull
5️⃣ Metrics all ☝️
Let's break it down.
1️⃣ The Sector is Moving
What's $MAGIC's sector? I believe TreasureDAO lives on the fine line between what used to be called a metaverse and what's now called infrastructure. Not exactly all backend like Altura, but not fully a game studio like whoever, either. A decentralized Nintendo with the ability to make first party stuff for its own console as well as accept third party contributions, pulling them all together under a single universe brand.
We're moving towards a world where one man teams will create both frontend and backend with AI agents and neuroattachments, so full stack decentralization is the way to go. I think it's about time we started calling these blockchains what they are — publishers. If you have a team forward thinking enough to create its own publishing house (more on that later) and the content as well, you have an entity that will thrive in the coming Exponential Age of AI.
2️⃣ $MAGIC is a Laggard But Not a Dud
Sector leader $RON shows the sector has the ability to move, but its the recent 300% performance of Aavegotchi ($GHST) that should really get you excited. Aavegotchi and TreasureDAO are similar in their full stack decentralization goals. The only reason $GHST outpaced $MAGIC this month is because the Aavegotchi team recently announced its move to Base, the current degen darling chain.
$MAGIC is a bit stuck in the mire of the Arbitrum publishing chain, and it does not seem keen to move for a few reasons. Eventually favor will return to alt L1s, imo hastened by the very public announcement of an extremely large grant from Arbitrum to Treasure for development. Rumors say Arbitrum could be considering a total grant to gaming in the realm of $400 million.
When this happens, all bets are off. And since TreasureDAO is really the only full stack gaming conglomerate on Arbitrum, we know where all that sweet money will be going once it gets committed.
It's good to see that Xai is not in competition with Treasure, rather finding the opportunity to collaborate to build faster on Arbitrum.
3️⃣ Team Built During Bear
The TreasureDAO Discord was one of the few Discords that didn't even experience a hiccup in its engagement during the bear market.
It actually grew. Price action tanked, but the community got past the tens of thousands of dollars lost in the genesis NFTs of the first version of the $MAGIC ecosystem. Long term locked stakes were forgiven and jeets were allowed to sell and move on.
Version 2 and so forth of the infrastructure came into being, each more intuitive than the last. Today, we have a system with the ability to connect players from all types of games into a single economy that can expand almost infinitely.
4️⃣ Team Taking Aggressive Action During Bull
What I really liked to see was the new Ambassador program. TreasureDAO has elevated (what I hope are) its most active and precocious community members to an official representative status.
What I really like is the Ambassadors are segmented by region and meant to expand the reach of the DAO. Although Treasure is centered in the Global South, there are Ambassadors assigned to Portugal, Greece, Germany, etc.
5️⃣ Metrics All Up
All social metrics for the DAO are up, showcasing rising interest. This is especially good considering the rotgut KOL community hasn't starting shilling them yet. It's always good to have true organic growth before the hyenas come in to boost things into a speculative hype that allows for copious profit taking.
More influencers, VCs and projects follow TreasureDAO on Twitter than in previous months, and this trend is only improving. Discord numbers are up in a sustainable way. This is a fire that just needs a spark — an Arbitrum grant announcement, a chain change, a big KOL taking notice.
