*The Danfo Conductor Who Collected Fare From A Ghost* đđť
Ojo route. 11pm. Last bus.
Conductor called Dele was tired. Bus was almost empty. Just 3 passengers:
1. Mama selling plantain
2. Student sleeping
3. One quiet guy in black cap, sitting at the back. Face down.
They got to Oshodi. Mama and student alighted.
Dele shouted: `Oshodi! Last stop!`
Only the guy in black cap remained.
*Dele:* `Oga, na where you dey go? Drop.`
Guy didnât answer. Just sat.
Dele got angry and tapped him. `I talk say drop!`
The guy slowly raised his head. His eyes were white. No pupils.
Dele screamed and jumped out of the bus. Driver also ran.
People gathered. `What happened?`
Dele was shaking. `That passenger... his eyes...`
Brave area boys entered the bus. The guy was still there. Cold. Not breathing.
One old man looked and said: `Ah. Na Tunde. He died here 2 weeks ago. Danfo hit him at this same spot 11pm.`
They checked his pocket. Inside was a 500 naira note and a paper: `Oshodi - 200`
From that day, Dele never did night bus again.
But drivers say sometimes, around 11pm at Oshodi, youâll see a danfo waiting. Conductor will shout `Enter enter`... and if you enter, thereâs always one empty seat at the back. And the bus will smell like cold.
If you sit there, next stop the conductor will tap you for fare.
When you turn... no one is there. Just a 500 naira note on the seat.
*Moral:* Some people donât know theyâve already reached their last stop.
