THE CIRCLE
For years I thought it was about working harder. Wake up early, grind more, sleep less. I was doing everything right on paper, but my life wasn't moving.
Then I looked at my circle.
Every day, same conversations. Who cheated, who bought what, who failed, who is fake. No one was talking about money, growth, books, God, future. We were just passing time, not building time.
I started to notice I was becoming them. Same mindset, same fears, same excuses. I was a product of my environment, and my environment was stuck. I was dreaming of a future that my current habits could never afford.
So I made the hardest decision. I distanced myself. No fight, no announcement, no disrespect. Just quiet distance. I stopped showing up to conversations that were draining my ambition.
I started sitting with different people. People who made me uncomfortable. People who asked me questions I couldn't answer at first. "What are you building? What book are you reading? Where do you see yourself in six months?" Their standards were higher, and at first, I felt small around them.
But small was good. Small meant I could grow again. I realized I wasn't failing because I lacked potential, I was failing because I was in the wrong room.
In six months, everything changed. Not because I suddenly became smarter, but because I changed what was normal around me. Excellence became normal. Discipline became normal. Winning became normal.
Lately I've come to realize that who you surround yourself with determines who you become. Your circle is not just your company, it's your ceiling. If you want to fly higher, you have to change your circle, and you change your life.
