Abiodun excited over Super Falcons debut

7 Oct 2022

Falconets midfielder Deborah Abiodun says she is happy to have made her senior appearance for the nation after having her Super Falcons debut in their September dual international friendlies against the United States women's national team.

The 18-year-old was selected for the senior women's team following her outstanding performance for the Falconets in the U-20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica, where they advanced to the quarterfinals despite falling to the Netherlands 2-0.

In a Thursday morning international friendly played at the Noevir Stadium in Kobe, Abiodun also started for the Falcons, who lost 2-0 to Japan.

The midfielder praised Falcons coach Randy Waldrum for the opportunity to play with the senior women's team in a video interview with NFF TV prior to the match against the Asian side. She also commented on her debut against the USA women's team.
