Yet we frequently abuse or neglect these remarkable sensory faculties through unhealthy habits and lack of intentional care. Protecting and nurturing our 5 senses should be a priority in self-care routines.

The Eyes Have It

Our eyes are astounding organs, yet we strain them constantly with screen time, poor lighting, lack of hydration, and inadequate nutrition. Give your eyes a break with practices like palming, blinking exercises, and eye yoga. Eat vision-boosting foods like carrots, leafy greens, and foods rich in omega-3s and zinc. Finally, protect your eyes from UV damage by wearing sunglasses outdoors.

Finely Tuned Hearing

Noise pollution, headphones at high volumes, and accumulated ear wax can all contribute to hearing damage over time. Have your ears checked regularly and consider noise-canceling headphones.
