Aabo's journey, when plans fall, faith remains. (A true story).
Aabo was not just an ordinary student , he was the pride of his family, the shining star of his small hometown. After years of hard work and sleepless nights, he earned a gold medal in his Master’s degree in Mass Communication. Everyone believed that his future was set that success would naturally follow excellence.
But reality had different plans.
As he stepped into the job market, Aabo was confronted by an ugly truth , merit alone wasn’t enough. Every interview seemed to end with the same unspoken demand money under the table, or a powerful reference from someone in authority. Aabo had neither. His father had passed away years ago, and his family lived a modest life. Ministers and influential people were worlds apart from his simple existence.
Time passed, and disappointment turned into desperation. Still, he didn’t give up. Hearing stories of better opportunities abroad, Aabo decided to move to Australia in search of a job that respected talent more than connections. By chance, he reconnected with an old friend who was already settled there and offered to help him start. For the first time in years, hope began to sparkle in his eyes.
But life tested him again in the cruellest way. Just days before his departure, his wife suffered a miscarriage. The emotional shock shook the very ground beneath his feet, and the plan to migrate crumbled.
Determined not to surrender, Aabo chose another path , starting his own business in the city. But the world of business came with its own walls , endless paperwork, licenses, credits, approvals, and regulations that seemed designed to defeat someone without financial backing or connections. Each step forward felt like two steps back.
Yet, Aabo refused to break. Using his knowledge, patience, and love for teaching, he finally opened a small academy. It wasn’t what he had dreamed of during his university days, but it allowed him to survive and give back by educating others.
Through it all, Aabo learned something that no degree could teach , All the plans we make may not carry weight, for only the plans willed by Allah truly succeed.
His story became a quiet reminder in our community that resilience matters, but acceptance and faith matter even more. And sometimes, what seems like failure is just a different path prepared for us by the One who knows best. That path have better deserve destiny if we firm believes in it.
I don't know how but I remember a song which is almost 25 years ago sing by Gurdas Maan . It is in Urdu language but best translation of Aabo's story.
