I AM STILL HERE

I asked the night, “Why must my journey be
A road of tears where joy refuses me?
Why does each dream I hold so close and dear
Turn into something that awakens fear?”

I have cried where nobody could see,
I have fought wars quietly inside of me.
I gave my heart, yet watched love disappear,
I gave my trust, yet collected every tear.

I smiled beneath the weight of hidden pain,
Pretending sunshine while I stood in rain.
They saw my laughter, never saw the fight,
Never the tears I swallowed every night.

I asked the heavens, “How much can I take?
How many times must broken hearts awake?
How many doors must close before I see
That maybe there is still a door for me?”

Sometimes I wonder if my prayers are heard,
If heaven understands my every word.
I kneel with faith, but when I rise again,
I find myself still wrestling with the pain.

But then a quiet voice within me said,
“Don't call it finished while you're still not dead.
The darkest night cannot forever stay;
Even the longest storm must fade away.”

So I will walk, though trembling, through the rain,
And turn each scar into a strength again.
I may be tired, but I refuse to fall,
For there is still a purpose through it all.

Let life throw stones; I'll build them into stairs,
I'll turn my wounds into unanswered prayers.
Let disappointment knock upon my door—
I'll rise and fight as I have fought before.

One day I'll understand the tears I cried,
The lonely roads, the nights I nearly died
To every dream that seemed too far to reach—
Perhaps the pain was life itself's harsh teach.

So, no, my story isn't ending here.
I'll carry hope despite my deepest fear.
The world may break me, but one truth stays:

I am still here.
And I will find my way.
