Missile intercepts and air raid sirens across Gulf amid escalating attacks
It has been another tense morning across several cities in the Gulf.

Here in Doha, we woke up this morning to the sound of explosions once again. At about 8am local time (05:00 GMT), there were two or three rounds of low but loud thuds, the kind typically heard when Patriot missile systems intercept incoming drones or missiles.

Also in Kuwait, we saw a US F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet crashing. Videos emerged showing the plane spinning and spiralling downwards with its tail on fire and smoke trailing behind it. Another video showed the two pilots ejecting successfully. They were later seen alive on the ground and being helped by locals.

That was a few hours ago. In the last short while, another video surfaced showing what appeared to be a jet crashing in a different part of Kuwait. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence has since confirmed that several US aircraft crashed over the course of the morning.

So far, we can independently confirm at least two separate incidents, though the videos are still pending full verification. The reports align with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence statement, which said it is coordinating with the United States to determine exactly what happened. Search and rescue teams were deployed, and officials say all pilots involved in the crashes managed to eject safely.

Separately, we’ve also received reports of smoke coming from the direction of the US Embassy in Kuwait, with video showing rescue crews at the scene. It is clearly a fast-moving and dynamic situation there.

There were also attacks and air raid sirens in Bahrain, which has faced a series of barrages since Iran’s retaliation for the US and Israeli strikes began. All of this in just the third day of the conflict. ‌
