The past year has been an exciting one for the entire Myria ecosystem with exciting events such as the launch of the MYRIA token, Myria Nodes, different initiatives, community contests and events, and much more. Let’s take a look at some of the Myria highlights for 2023!

Metarush Reached a New Milestone

In February 2023, the Metarush team sent out an invitation to the Myria community for the first-ever closed demo. Users had the chance to apply for the demo by submitting a form. For those unfamiliar, Metarush is the first game being developed by Myria Studios, our very own in-house game development studio. The title is best described as an obstacle-runner battle royale where reaching the finish line before the others is all that matters.
February was just the start for Metarush as more events followed throughout the year. Read on to find out more about them!

The Myria Lore Received New Chapters

2023 was a good year for all the Myria lore fans. March marked the release of Mission Sigma Chapter 3, continuing the adventures of Landrik. Myria lore will be interconnected with events happening within the Myria ecosystem so you might want to catch up on the story so far.

The Alliance Keys NFT Airdrop

Shortly after the release of Sigma Mission Chapter 3, there was the announcement for the Alliance Keys NFT Airdrop. Myria community members had the chance to complete different tasks, earn points, and collect key fragments of varying rarities. The fragments would then be used to form and unlock a corresponding Alliance Keys NFT of the same rarity.
Anyone who collected enough key fragments had the opportunity to mint a free NFT up until September 1 for Ultra Rare and October 1 for Rare and Common keys.

The Myria Whitepaper Was Released

Wen whitepaper? The answer came in March when the Myria Whitepaper was officially released. The document goes over the structure of the Myria ecosystem, MYRIA tokenomics, the various features offered by the Myria Layer 2, the Myria SDK, Myria Nodes, Myria Wallet & Marketplace, and more. You can read the whitepaper yourself by following the link below.

The MYRIA Token Went Live

Without a doubt, the most anticipated launch within the Myria ecosystem for 2023 was the release of Myria’s native token, MYRIA. As mentioned above, the token was described in detail in the whitepaper. MYRIA went live in early April, launching first on the OKX exchange, followed by multiple other listings on KuCoinGateMEXCBitmart & Uniswap.
With a total cap of 50 billion tokens and a steady unlock schedule, MYRIA sits at the center of the Myria ecosystem. The distribution of tokens is as follows:

  • Ecosystem fund — 40%
  • Node rewards — 36%
  • Project development — 19%
  • Liquidity provision — 3%
  • Strategic reserve — 2%

The Myria Node Sale Began

A few days after the launch of the MYRIA token, the public sale of Myria nodes officially began. April 10 was the first day the general public received the opportunity to purchase Myria Node licenses. Before that, a total of 6000 Node licenses were sold, demonstrating the faith of both the Myria community and our strategic partners in the future of the project.
More about Myria Nodes
Myria Node licenses can only be purchased with MYRIA tokens, ensuring there’s a constant demand for Myria’s native token. Running a Myria Node keeps our ecosystem decentralized and secure, and rewards node operators with daily MYRIA tokens.

The Myria Node Referral Program Was Launched

What’s the point of Myria Nodes if you can’t share the joy with friends? Early June, marked the start of the Myria Nodes Referral Program. This initiative aims to reward all active node operators by giving them an extra incentive to refer family, friends, and Web3 enthusiasts to the Myria ecosystem.
If you’re already operating a Myria Node, you can refer a friend by following these steps:

  1. Visit your Myria Node dashboard
  2. Copy your unique referral code
  3. Share it with your friends
  4. Have the referee register with your code, deposit MYRIA, and purchase a Myria Node.

Node referral rewards can be tracked through your personal Myria Node dashboard. As for the exact tokens you’ll receive, you can calculate the amount by using the table below.
Myria Node Referral rewards are still subject to an early claim fee. This means that to get 100% of the rewards, you’ll have to let them vest for a minimum of 7 days. Claiming earlier will reduce rewards by a percentage.

The Myria SDK Received an Update

Onboarding Web3 projects into the Myria ecosystem could have been challenging. Thankfully, the Myria SDK is there to make the process easy and seamless. Taking into account the valuable insights provided by developers actively building on Myria, numerous aspects of the Myria SDK were enhanced while also introducing innovative features.
The Myria SDK Just Got Better
The Myria SDK includes several essential elements such as Projects, Collections, Minting, and Assets. The June update added the Myria Developer Portal to the mix, making it more intuitive to create and edit projects, collections, and more. Over the remainder of the year, the Myria SDK continued to receive updates with quality-of-life improvements.

The Myria Developer Grants Program Began

Finding proper funding in the world of Web3 can be challenging due to its decentralized aspect. Oh, the irony. Add to that the fact that there are hundreds if not thousands of projects and you get a good picture of how competitive our industry can be. To address this pain point and connect Web3 gaming startups with investors, Myria created the Myria Developer Grants Program.
With the Grants Program, Myria aims to support creators and allow them to focus entirely on their craft — making quality games. The Myria Developer Grants Program is a direct funding program that allows developers to apply and receive up to $500,000 in MYRIA tokens. But it’s not just funding, the Myria core team will always be there to support your project and assist you in the fields of gameplay design, economy design, tokenomics, marketing support, token listing, and more.

More Metarush Demos & Contests

After the great success of the first Metarush closed gameplay demo, it was time for a second one. At the end of July, community members once again had the chance to apply for the event and experience a brand-new level.
Metarush Second Demo Recap
In the weeks that followed the event, the Metarush team held two separate community contests. The first one was for the best obstacle. Participants were asked to come up with their best idea for a new obstacle that’ll later be added to Metarush. To participate, users had to describe the function of the obstacle within the race, how its mechanics would work, and visualize how it would look. The second community event was all about new character skins. Anyone who wanted to participate had the choice of submitting a common or rare skin by creating the model.

MYRIA Went Live on the Myria Marketplace

The Myria Marketplace was missing something and it became clear what it was in early October. That’s when the MYRIA token officially went live on the Myria Marketplace, expanding the utility of the Myria native token even further.
Previously, projects and users had the option to list their Myria NFTs exclusively in ETH. After the update, there was an alternative option with the MYRIA token. Now, all assets have the flexibility to be directly listed in MYRIA. This means that the entire process, including listing, buying, selling, and receiving NFT royalties, can seamlessly transpire in MYRIA. Once an asset has been listed using MYRIA, the completion of orders for it will also exclusively involve MYRIA. This provides users and projects with increased flexibility and a streamlined experience within the Myria ecosystem.

360 Cricket Development Continued

After partnering with AB de Villiers in 2022, the development of the first celebrity-backed cricket arcade mobile game, 360 Cricket, began. The game will feature a casual PvE mode and a PvP mode for the more competitive players. 360 Cricket made major strides in 2023 with an early closed demo release in July.
In the months to follow, development continued further with internal alpha testing along with AB himself.

Expect to hear more about 360 Cricket in 2024!

The Myria Node License Price Update

Over the past month, the MYRIA token has surged, attracting more attention to our ecosystem. The increased interest in operating Myria Nodes was a clear indication of the trust placed in our vision of Web3 gaming. In a move to reward early Myria Node license owners and contribute to the sustainability of the community’s economy, the decision was made to implement a few changes.
Myria Node Price Update
Starting December 8, the base price of Myria Node licenses was increased to $5,500 in MYRIA tokens. Furthermore, the price ramp mechanism was changed to a linear one, adding $100 to the base price for every 100 node licenses sold. This new system facilitates a continuous flow of new node operators, improving the resilience of the Myria network.

A New Listing on Bybit

MYRIA’s initial launch made the Myria native token available on a number of centralized exchanges and Uniswap. That list expanded further on December 14 when MYRIA became officially listed on Bybit. The major exchange listing was accompanied by a dedicated prize pool of 15,000,000 MYRIA tokens for anyone who deposited MYRIA to the platform.
