Reflection on liberalism.
Change is the trend in our present age made possible by the moderate shift in our collective consciousness towards things which did not matter in past centuries. Thus, change has not failed to modify the concept of liberal values. Liberalism has several definitions according to various levels of understanding. Personally, I would say liberal values should be principles that augment balance in our way of life. This balance should be reflected in our character and the way we interact with and treat humanity.

Poor insight and judgement.
Our interpretation of contemporary issues is short of liberalism. Take for example, Islamophobia which has got a wrong connotation. Some western media gives the world the impression that all Muslims are terrorists. In reality, this is not so. We have come to comfortable terms with gay and sex-workers’ rights yet polygamy is a dangerous evil that must be destroyed.
It's more of sentiment and propaganda.
If we move to issues of human rights, environmental protection, arms proliferation, sovereignty of nations, health, freedom of thought, scientific experiments, social justice, economy and governance etcetera, we would find out that we as humanity have use little of liberal values but more of propaganda.

Conclusion.
It has become relevant to redefine liberal values using Truth, justice, ethics, morality, culture, national sovereignty, personal choices, holistic view, even implementation, tolerance and love as parameters. To be truly liberal, humanity must be cognizant of the freedom of choice in all peoples. Liberal values should not only be interpreted from the comfort zones of the western mind.
