The test was performed on the TON mainnet, using a set of 100 validator nodes distributed around the world. The test lasted 24 hours and more than 9.4 billion transactions were generated, with an average of 108,409 TPS and a maximum peak of 121,000 TPS. These numbers far exceed previous records from other blockchains and show the potential of this technology to scale and process millions of transactions per second.
It is valid to note that the transaction speed of a blockchain is measured by the number of transactions it can process per second (TPS). This speed depends on several factors, such as network design, consensus, scalability, and demand. The higher the transaction speed, the more efficient and competitive the blockchain will be. Among the main blockchains with the highest transaction speed are: Solana (65,000 TPS on average and theoretically up to 710,000 TPS), Fantom (25,000 TPS with a high level of scalability), Ripple (1,700 TPS with a confirmation time of about 4 seconds), Stellar Lumens (1,000 TPS with a confirmation time of about 2 seconds). Although there are many others that also offer competitive speeds such as Cardano, Tron, Ethereum 2.0, Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash.
