The Two Brothers and One Mango🥭
There were two brothers. Emeka and Chinedu.
Their father died and left them one mango tree. That tree was their only food during dry season.
But wahala started.
*Emeka:* `I’m older. The tree is mine.`
*Chinedu:* `I’m the one watering it. The tree is mine.`
They fought every day. They stopped greeting. `Ezi mgbede` turned to silence.
One dry season, the tree only grew ONE mango. Big and yellow.
Both of them saw it at the same time.
*Emeka:* `Mine!`
*Chinedu:* `Mine!`
They were about to fight when their neighbor, Mama Ngozi, came.
*Mama Ngozi:* `Stop! Instead of fighting, cut it and share. Or better... sell it and use the money for both of you.`
They ignored her. Emeka plucked it at night. Chinedu saw him and snatched it. In the struggle, the mango fell and got spoilt. Worms entered.
That night both of them were hungry. No mango. No peace.
The next morning, Chinedu knocked on Emeka’s door.
*Chinedu:* `Nna, I meela. We were foolish.`
*Emeka:* `I meela too. Let’s plant 2 more trees together.`
They planted together. Watered together. Harvested together.
Years later, that one mango tree became 10. And anytime people asked, they’d say: `Greed spoilt one mango. Unity gave us an orchard.`
*Moral:* `I meela` is cheaper than pride. One mango divided by 2 is better than one mango wasted by 2.
